Westmoreland County Senior Shared Ride Program

This program is funded by Penn-Dot. It provides rides for Seniors to go to Doctor appointments, Senior Centers, family outings, shopping, etc.

To be a part of the program, you must complete an application with Westmoreland Transit. You must provide proof of birth date with one of the following: driver's license, ID card, birth certificate, Baptismal certificate, passport, military discharge papers or a PACE card.

Once your application is approved, you will receive a transit card. This card may be used with Westmoreland Transit, Mid-Mon Valley Transit, Allegheny Port Authority and many others.

To schedule a ride, call Westmoreland Transit at 1-800-242-2706. Monday-Friday 8a-4p. They can not do "same day" trips, but you may schedule up to 2 weeks in advance. They schedule trips for Monday-Friday, 6a-9p and Saturday 7a-7p.

Westmoreland Transit contracts with several taxi companies and bus lines. They provide transportation in regular cars / vans, wheelchair vans and buses.

Most medical rides are $1-$3, no matter the distance.
